Shreveport/Bossier Weekend Events For February 8 and 9, 2014

Looks like after the possibility of a little rain later this afternoon, the weather is going to be really nice for whatever you've got planned this weekend!  And there's lots to choose from including all the events we've found:

• Frost Yer Fanny Duathon - Compete in one of the earliest and most competitive events in our region, the USAT South Midwest Region Duathlon Championship at the Frost yer Fanny Duathlon on Sunday, February 9, 2014 - Starts at 9am
• Susan's Closet for Susan G. Komen for the Cure - Benefits the Northwest Louisiana Chapter of Susan G. Komen will be opening this Saturday. It’s the 5th year for the event which gives girls all over Kiss Country the chance to purchase gowns and accessories at the very low price of $25. Susans Closet is at the First Baptist Church in Shreveport this Saturday. Doors open at 7 am for high school students. The general public is welcome at 10am.
• Bass Pro Shops presents Crappie Madness Feb. 7 and 8 and Feb. 14 and 15 and will feature John Godwin from Duck Dynasty in the marine center signing autographs on Saturday Feb. 8 at 10am
• The Shreveport Bossier Mavericks will have basketball games at 7:30pm on Saturday, Feb. 8 and again at 4:00 pm on Sunday, Feb. 9 at Hirsch Coliseum
• The Springhill Main Street Mardi Gras Parade in downtown Springhill, La. begins at 4:00pm on Saturday, Feb. 8
• New movies out this weekend include The Monuments Men, Vampire Academy and The Lego Movie
