Shreveport/Bossier Could Be in for Severe Weather Tuesday Night
Batten down the hatches! According to the National Weather Service in Shreveport, most of East Texas, Southwestern Arkansas and Northwest Louisiana, including Shreveport and Bossier City, could be in for more rough weather late tomorrow (Tuesday March 29) night.
After the torrential downpour and high winds from only a week ago, lots of residents are still trying to clean up, but it looks like those cleaning efforts could be in vain as we might see another storm in the next couple of days.
When Will The Storms Move Into Our Area?
The Shreveport Office of the National Weather Service says that our area will most likely see a line of strong to severe thunderstorms moving into most of our region late tomorrow and will hang around through early Wednesday afternoon.
The statement advises that the greatest severe weather threat will be from late morning through early afternoon Wednesday over Central and Northeast Louisiana.
How Bad Will The Storms Be?
The good news, at present time, is that the potential for tornadoes is listed as "Low". However, the Weather Service states that we could see maximum winds of seventy to eighty miles per hour and hail as large as quarter to half dollar size.
According to the Hazardous Weather Outlook:
Damaging thunderstorm wind gusts will be the main threat with large hail and isolated tornadoes also a possibility before the storms move east of the region Wednesday evening.
Of course we will keep you updated with all the latest info that might include flood watches, warnings or road closures as we get it.
