Police: Shreveport McDonald’s Employee Steals Customer’s Identities
A Shreveport McDonald's employee has been arrested for allegedly stealing customers identities, at the restaurant, for over three years.
30-year-old Cody Wayne Lyell of Shreveport has been arrested and charged with 20 counts of Identity Theft. KTBS reports that Lyell was taking pictures of customers credits cards while serving them at the McDonald's on North Market Street.
Police say he then used the cards to steal thousands of dollars from the victims. Lyell even used one of the victim's identities to open a bank account. He then attempted to use checks to steal from the bank.
Authorities add that some of the victims were even able to identify Lyell as the McDonald's employee who served them when they visited the restaurant.
In addition to the 20 counts of Identity Theft, when Lyell was booked into the Caddo Correctional Center, he faced additional charges of bank fraud and possession of drug paraphernalia.
