Shreveport Man Arrested Suspected of Raping 13 Year Old Juvenile

SHREVEPORT, LA- Shreveport Police arrest man for allegedly raping a thirteen year old juvenile. Shreveport Police Special Victims Unit began an investigation on July 6th, 2023, into a complaint of a thirteen-year-old juvenile being sexually assaulted by an adult male. An emergency forensic interview was conducted on the juvenile who disclosed disturbing details of a sexual assault reportedly by Demetrius Washington (2/13/85).

After further investigation into this incident, detectives responded to the employer of Washington. Washington reportedly fled the area but was apprehended a short time later. Detectives have charged Washington with one count of 1st Degree Rape, one count of Indecent Behavior with a juvenile, and one count of Sexual Battery.

If convicted Washington could face up to life in prison. We are required to remind that all suspects are innocent until proven guilty.
