Shreveport Slowdowns: I-220 Westbound Lane Closure Starts Monday Night
Nighttime drivers accustomed to using I-220 in Shreveport are in for another few days of slow downs.

The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development has recently sent notice to all motorists that beginning this coming Monday night, November 3, a portion of the inside westbound lane on the I-220 bridge over Cross Lake in Shreveport will be closed.
And this closure won't be exclusive to Monday night. Expect closures each night, Monday through Thursday, November 6, from 9:00 pm to 5:00 am as crews from the City of Shreveport continue their efforts to repair the street lighting system on the bridge.
This lane closure is located approximately 1.3 miles west of the LA 173 (Hilry Huckaby III) interchange.
Previously permitted oversized loads will be accommodated through the work zone and no detour is necessary.
Of course, this work will be done "Weather Permitting" so any inclement weather could delay, extend or alter in other ways the scheduled work nights/hours.
