The National Weather Service in Shreveport says there is a slight chance that the weather could get nasty here in the Arklatex tomorrow afternoon and evening.

In a Hazardous Weather Outlook from the service, we learn that thunderstorms will develop late today to the north of the Shreveport area along the I-30 corridor.

There is a marginal risk of severe weather into early Saturday during this development.

However, forecasters predict an increase in the coverage and intensity of thunderstorms during Saturday's afternoon hours. Portions of our area will be at an "Enhanced Risk" of this severe weather, but for most of Northwest Louisiana, we will see a "Slight Risk" of the severe storms.

The National Weather Service does add that some of this activity will become strong to possibly severe for areas along and east of our I-49 corridor into the evening hours.

The Storm Prediction Center has posted a slight risk for large hail and potentially damaging wind gusts as the main hazards, but an isolated tornado cannot be ruled out in this part of our four state area.
