Be Prepared! Section Of I-20 Near Greenwood Closed Thursday
As the reconstruction process of I-20 in Bossier City continues and slows traffic to snail's pace, we now learn of another slow-down on the busy interstate.
In an alert from the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development, we are told that tomorrow, Thursday, January 11, I-20 westbound, near the Town of Greenwood, will be reduced to one lane.
The area indicated in the image below shows the area to be reduced to only one lane of travel.
According to the Louisiana DOTD, this lane closure is expected to last the entire day and is necessary to make much needed repairs to the roadway.
This lane closure is located just east of Exit 5 (US 79/US 80) near the railroad overpass.
As with all projects from the DOTD, this work will be performed weather permitting.
DOTD appreciates your patience and reminds you to please drive with caution through the construction site and be on the lookout for work crews and their equipment.
Area residents should exercise caution when driving, walking, or biking near an active construction zone.
