Last night, during all the crazy weather, my boyfriend got in his first wreck ever. It was bad too. He wrangled a 60 foot pine tree on a dark road. Bad part is, someone else had just avoided hitting it, but freaked out, left their car and turned their lights off, so no one saw her... or the tree in the middle of the road. He was smart enough even to look for downed power lines before he got out of the car, which I probably wouldn't have done. But, it just reminded me just HOW important it is to make safety a habit.

Turns out, no one was at fault, because it was an act of nature, but when asked why she parked and ran, she just said that she didn't know where her hazard lights were. So, the lesson for today is... always know where your emergency lights are in your car. Always stay calm in an urgent situation and don't forget to look out for your neighbor too.

This has been a public service announcement from me. :)
