We're talking about Paul Barnett and seeing Maddison's description of this kind-hearted, always giving Saint of a man, we knew he was the absolute best choice as this week's recipient of the Kiss Country Caught in the Act Award.

There's no good place to start telling you about the influence that Paul Barnett has had on my life, so I’ll just start from the beginning, when I met Paul in July 2017. We fought like cats and dogs, never seeing eye to eye, but over the years that changed. See, no one asked him to step up and be a father to me and my sisters, but he did it. He never stopped to ask what's in it for me. But he showed me what it's like to be a good human. What I mean by this, is back in '21, he spent sun up to sun down helping the Shreveport police & fire department remove stranded people out of ditches & roadways and other business owners get to and from work. And again this year when people were stuck, he helped the shreveport volunteer network. He never asked for money, expected money, nor took it when offered. Paul is the guy that "never meets a stranger" & would give you the shirt off his back. He also will randomly stop to help people on the side of the road whether it be a flat tire, wreck, etc. When you pass by his house on the weekends, there’s just about always a grill going and ANYONE can stop by to eat. He doesn't have to know you to offer a plate. Heck, he'd bring you a plate! Paul is the man you want to "have in your corner", (as he would say) when all else fails. This Behavior is natural for him and has molded me into the person I am today. I only hope to be half the person Paul is. I feel that everyone should have a "Paul" in their life.
