Anyone who's ever watched the movie "Steel Magnolias" knows that a small town hair salon is the center of that area's universe. Pamela Parrot owns such a place. While we're sure there's gossip and other types of "hair salon" issues, one other thing is observed daily. Kindness. Yeah, just plain and simple generosity and consideration. Kind of like what we used to see in Floyd's barbershop on Andy Griffith.

All that kindness is attributed to the heart of Pamela Parrot. She was just born that way. And believe it or not, it was actually her future daughter-in-law who told us about her. While some people really dislike their mother in law, Samantha Bush is pretty sure she's hit the mom-in-law jackpot!

Just look at her letter and you'll see how easy it was to name Pamela this week's recipient of the Kiss Country Caught in the Act Award.

I have met my future mother-in-law a handful of times. Now no one is perfect but I believe she comes pretty darn close. She has a small hair salon in east texas. During this time I have come to know her, I have seen her trade haircuts with a local man for taking out her trash. She cuts hair at an old folks home and is just an all around sweet human being. Well this last saturday brought me to tears. A man walked in looked around as if to check the store was empty. He asked if he could bring his child in for a trim and she agreed. This man proceeds to bring his autistic daughter into the shop. I have never seen anyone with more patience and kindness then I did that afternoon as she took her time combing and trimming this young girls hair as she was bouncing and moving around. I hope one day to be half the women that she is.

Pamela Parrot, thank you for being an inspiration to us all and a big reason why this is the greatest place in America to live!

And because you've been "Caught in the Act" the gang at Silver Star have a $100 Gift Certificate for you to come have dinner on them!

Take a listen to the phone call we made to Pamela to let her know that she was this week's Caught In The Act Award recipient.
