Smell that? That's the smell of hot, fresh king cake! The kickoff to Mardi Gras is this weekend and area krewes are ready to do it up big right here in northwest Louisiana!
The annual kick off to the Mardi Gras season in the Ark-La-Tex, 12th Night, is this Saturday night and it’s being hosted by the Krewe of Centaur this year. The theme is ‘Turn Back Time’ being held at the Bossier Civic Center starting at 6pm. All of the area Mardi Gras krewes will come together for the first major party of the season and present their royalty. Tickets are $50. The event features an open bar and live music from Chinatown. 21+
The religious beginning to the Mardi Gras season is this Saturday morning at 9am at St. Pius X. The service is open to the public and will be in honor of Msgr. Carson LaCaze with a reception immediately after. This event is sponsored by the Manno family.
The Loblolly 12th Night Revelers Luncheon is this Saturday from 1-3pm at the Holiday Inn Dowtown with a pine cone raffle, live music, complimentary mimosas, full buffet, toast of the area krewes and the selection of the ‘Lord and Lady of Misrule!’ Tickets are $35 and you must RSVP in advance because no tickets are being sold at the door.
The annual Philadephia Center Resolution Run 5k/10k is this Saturday starting at 8am at Betty Virginia Park. Registration is $30 and you can sign up at the event.
Head to the Horseshoe Casino this Friday starting at 7pm in your 90's finest to celebrate with the Chee Wheez and The Hollow Decks! Tickets start at $25 and the event will feature food and desserts with multiple cash bars.
