New Movies Friday Aug 15th: ‘The Expendables 3,’ ‘The Giver,’ ‘Let’s Be Cops’
Your favorite aging action stars are back for the third time to blow up more stuff. They are taking on the latest young-adult-novel-turned-movie and a comedy that sounds should have probably gone straight to DVD.
"The Expendables 3" (PG-13) The superteam of aging mercenaries faces its biggest, and most personal, threat yet, when a former member turns out to be the big bad guy this time around. Sylvester Stallone, Jason Statham, Jet Li, Dolph Lundgren, Terry Crews, Randy Couture, and Arnold Schwarzenegger are all back from the last movie. Plus, there are a ton of new additions, including Wesley Snipes, Antonio Banderas, Mel Gibson, Kelsey Grammer and Harrison Ford.
"The Giver" (PG-13) Jeff Bridges is “the Giver”, the one man who has the full memory of all of humanity's experiences. When a young man begins to learn of his world's darker secrets it becomes too much for him to bear and he decides to flee in order to save himself and his family. Taylor Swift has a small role in it as The Giver's daughter.
"Let's Be Cops" (R) Two buddies dress up as police officers for a costume party but then get mistaken for real cops by everyone in the neighborhood. Including some corrupt cops and mobsters run by Andy Garcia.
