New App Puts Your Louisiana Driver’s License on Your Phone
Are you one of those prone to forgetting your wallet, or maybe you've lost your purse? There's a new app that will help with that.
Launching early next month, this app will allow Louisiana drivers to store a valid digital copy of their driver's license on their smartphone.
The app, La Wallet, priced at only $5.99, will prohibit police officers from issuing a ticket during traffic stops or checkpoints to anyone who presents a digital license in lieu of a physical copy.
The digital copy should be accepted as legal form of identification at bars or gambling facilities or any place where a valid, state issued ID is required.
There are a couple of kinks in this armor though. Louisiana drivers, for the moment, must still carry a hard copy of their license and the digital license can't be used for identification purposes to board an aircraft.
