Mylar Balloon Knocks Out Power In South Caddo Parish

If you live in South Caddo Parish and find yourself having to reset all your flashing clocks when you get home this evening because your power went out while you were working, you’ll be able to thank the birthday boy....or somebody’s sweetheart.  Apparently a Mylar balloon came into contact with a power line in the area and caused approximately 2,800 Swepco customers to temporarily lose power this morning.  The outage only lasted from 9:15am to 9:50am when Swepco had things all fixed up, but amazingly this isn’t the first time this has happened.  According to KTBS.com, the same thing happened last July…with essentially the same effects.  Okay, now back to re-setting the clock…and you know the one on the microwave is going to be the most fun!
