Murder in Shreveport’s Mooretown Neighborhood

One man is dead in a shooting Saturday. The victim was sitting in his pickup truck at the intersection of Evers Drive and Broadway Ave. in Shreveport's Mooretown neighborhood when he was shot.  The incident happened at about 5:45 p.m..

The victim is identified as 85-year-old John Henry McDonald of Shreveport, McDonald was transported to Ochsner LSU Health hospital, where he died at 6:42 p.m.

An autopsy was ordered at Ochnser.

The slaying remains under investigation by the Shreveport Police Department, to which media should direct further inquiries.

Police say the victim was shot several times. This marks the second murder in Shreveport on Saturday. The other one happened in Queensborough.

Detectives are still searching for clues and looking for witnesses to this murder.
