More Construction This Week Will Close I-20 at I-220 in Bossier
If you have been watching the construction of the new I-20/I-220 Barksdale Interchange Access Project in East Bossier, you have probably noticed just how much progress the crews have made.
However, there is still work left to do. That said, the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development has issued a notice to motorists who travel that area, there will be intermittent lane closures for approximately the next three months.
Another one of those closures will take place at the end of this week.
The DOTD will make the following closures in an effort to aid the construction.
This Friday, March 18 from 7:00 pm through Saturday, March 19 at 5:00 am, the I-20 Westbound to I-220 Westbound on-ramp will be closed.
Also, this Saturday, March 19 from 6:00 am to 5:00 pm the I-220 eastbound inside lane from US 80 to I-20 will be closed. The US 80 on-ramp to I-220 eastbound will also be closed during this same time period.
Of course, the work will be done weather permitting, but if the long-range forecast is correct, the weather should present no problems.
To keep everyone, including the construction crews, safe during this period, the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development has issued this reminder:
DOTD appreciates your patience and reminds you to please drive with caution through the construction site and be on the lookout for work crews and their equipment. Area residents should exercise caution when driving, walking, or biking near an active construction zone.
