Mike & Laurie Cork are Newest Recipients of Caught in the Act Award [VIDEO]
You know you've got the parenting thing down when your kids look at you with eyes of sheer admiration. Mike and Laurie Cork are prime examples. When we read the nomination letter penned by their daughter, Jessica Perry, we knew they had obviously hit this one out of the park.
Not only were they shining examples of what true commitment to community means, they had taught her enough to actually see the value in that commitment. (It's that old "takes one to know one" mentality. And in this case, that's a great thing)
Just one look at the letter we got from Jessica and you'll see why we just had to name Mike and Laurie Cork this week's recipients of the Kiss Country Caught in the Act Award.
My parents are the owners and main operators of Ultimate Bass dot com. It is a huge bass fishing forum with over 20,000 members internationally. Their lives are spent giving advise, support and information to these members through the site. Over the years it has grown into another way to give back. Each year around the holidays they choose a family to adopt. This family is always a family who needs a little extra support during this time. It started with a little boy who needed health treatments and they raised $1,400 to help his family by sponsors donating items to be raffled off and selling raffle tickets. This year after eight years of doing this for different families in different situations it is even bigger than ever. This year they blessed a family again in need of health treatments and raised over $10,000!! I believe this year and every year they deserve to be noticed for the things they do.
Mike and Laurie Cork, THANK YOU for your big hearts! You are amazing and a big reason why this is the greatest place in America to live!
And because you've been 'Caught in the Act' the gang at Silver Star Smokehouse have a $100 Gift Certificate for you to come have dinner!
Take a listen to the phone call we made to Mike and Laurie to let them know they were this week's Caught In The Act Award recipients.
