Justin Thomas loves dogs! In fact, he loves them so much, he couldn't bear to see the unwanted and unloved dogs of Webster Parish to wander the streets and completely homeless.

So a number of years ago, Justin founded the non-profit animal shelter, Lumberjack Rescue. Justin had no idea that others like Michelle Lewis were truly watching his actions and admired his compassion for these dogs and how much of an impact he'd made on them.

Just see what Michelle wrote in Justin's nomination letter and you'll see why it was so easy to name Justin Thomas this week's recipient of the Kiss Country Caught in the Act Award.

Justin Thomas is the founder/owner of Lumberjack Rescue in Sarepta, LA. Lumberjack Rescue is a 501c3 funded primarily by Justin Thomas. There is no local, state or government funding available. Justin Thomas funds this rescue out of his own hard earned money at the tune of over 500,000, his personal money. He makes sacrifices so he can pay his staff at the rescue and pay for all daily expenses that are associated with the rescue for the care of the animals that call Lumberjack home. Because of Justin Thomas and his heart for the abused, neglected and the "throw away" like garbage animals of Webster Parish, Louisiana, over 2000 dogs have been saved in this parish and other surrounding parishes in several years thanks to him and his staff. Dogs that would have been euthanized. Yes would have died. His heart suffers and dies alittle with every abused animal. As you all know ther e is not an animal control facility in Webster Parish. The poor innocent souls would have perished if he had not stepped up one day and said THIS IS ENOUGH. I have personally witnessed him take animals home when they are to old or to sick to be adopted. I have also witnessed his tears as he lays beside a dying animal. He never asks for credit nor does he expect any. I am proud to call him a friend and fellow animal activist.

Justin Thomas, thank you for being one of the "good guys" and a big reason why this is the greatest place in America to live!

And because you've been "Caught in the Act" the gang at Silver Star Smokehouse have a $100 Gift Certificate for you and the family to come have dinner on them!

Take a listen to the phone call we made to Justin to let him know that he was this week's Caught In The Act Award recipient.
