More Than a Rodeo: How the R&R Tour Shares the Gospel

Rodeo Outreach Ministries has kicked off their fifth annual rodeo tour, the 2026 R&R Tour, and the next stop will be the R.E. Josey Memorial Rodeo, next Saturday, February 28, at 1:00 pm at the City Arena in Marshall, Texas.

Admission is only $10 and along with the full compliment of traditional rodeo events including bareback riding, steer wrestling, tie down roping, girls breakaway roping, team roping, saddle bronc riding, and girls barrel racing, rodeo fans will also see some of the finest bull riders in the area. They also offer home town barrel racing.

This, and all the events of the tour, are sanctioned by the Louisiana Rodeo Cowboys Association and other rodeo associations.

Here's how Jesus enters the picture. Quoting the scripture from Matthew 28:18-20, "Go and make disciples of all nations", all Rodeo Outreach Ministries tour competitors receive points for their position finishes at each rodeo. Then, at the end of the tour, the points are totaled and the champions in each event receive custom buckles and Bibles. Tour organizers actually share the Gospel with them and put a copy of it in their hands as well.
