The heat is on in Louisiana, and I'm not talking about the temperature!  The last 2 weekends have been quite successful for one crime task force in our state.  The good guys racked up an impressive number of arrests during a multi-parish crime sweep that should help residents of the Sportsman's Paradise sleep a little more soundly tonight.

According to the report from New Orleans news station WGNO, a huge group of law enforcement professionals who call themselves the Central Louisiana Violent Crime Abatement Team just finished an operation that resulted in a whopping 171 arrests!  Just so you know what I mean by huge, this task force consists of 19 federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies all working together to stomp a mudhole in crime.

According to the report, the groups goal in this operation was hunt down individuals mixed up in violent crime, possession of stolen property, possession/distribution of illicit drugs, and weapons violations.  Their laser-like focus nabbed alleged bad guys who are now being charged with a wide variety of serious charges that carry serious consequences if they're found guilty.
