Lou Ann Holley Is This Week’s Recipient of the Caught in the Act Award [VIDEO]

Some people just have a passion for animals. In lots of those cases, the love is for a dog, cat or a horse. But the best friend that a rabbit can have around these parts is Lou Ann Holley!

Through her "Holley's Hopping Habitat" she's not just our area's only rabbit rescue, but she's spread her knowledge and passion for bunnies to people all over the area. And that was definitely something that Randy Wellhausen was paying attention to. And Randy wanted the world to know just how incredible Lou Ann is when he nominated her for the Kiss Country Caught in the Act Award.

And it was his letter that made her such an easy selection for this week's award.

Lou Ann is the owner/operator of the only Rabbit Rescue in this area. Her rescue is Holleys Hopping Habitat. She is often overlooked because her rescue does not do cats and dogs. Lou Ann spends countless hours caring for the domestic rabbits others do not want. She receives some donations and is very appreciative of the ones she gets. The majority of the cost of running the shelter is paid out of her own pocket. Every Spring she is out with local photographers doing pictures with the Easter Bunny. She will not turn down anyone asking her for a presentation, from Girl Scouts to 4H to local libraries to local schools she will get a rabbit or 2 loaded and ensure every participant is acknowledged and receives an activity book. When she is able to, she visits local nursing homes and the local VA Home so the residents can play with the rabbits. She will do presentations to speci al needs children to ensure they are not left out. Lou Ann has a big heart and goes out her way to ensure that she is available for anyone that needs help with their pet rabbit. It seems she never refuses to help out anyone who needs it and wants nothing in return when it comes to spreading the joy of her Bunnies. Anyone wanting to adopt is well educated and knows what to expect before they leave her shelter. I hope you will consider her for the caught in the act award.
