We hear of "those people" all the time, but now we can put a face to what "those people" look like.

"Those people" who don't just walk past a person in need. They stop, and not only offer assistance, but follow through. "Those people" who just light up a room whenever they walk in. "Those people" who are never afraid to do whatever God puts on their heart to help, regardless the day/time. Yes, Garrett Farmer is one of "those people."

And we are so proud he is! But, no prouder than Susan Cross, who took the time to tell us about this incredible man when she wrote her inspiring nomination letter about Garrett.

He's this week's recipient of the Kiss Country Caught in the Act Award and Susan's letter perfectly explains why.

If you say the name “Garrett” in the small communities of North Caddo, everyone will know who you are talking about. I first heard “Garrett” years ago when Garrett was a fireman at Caddo Fire District 8 from my Dad who talked about Garrett with the highest respect. Garrett is the one person who will come to the aid and assistance for anyone anywhere. He is an avid sportsman and on a recent hunting trip he made friends with a special needs man at the Air BnB and then made a return visit to take the man police and fire mementos as he is a fan of police- Garrett made this person’s Christmas so bright. That is our Garrett!! There just aren’t enough words to describe Garrett. He has a strong faith in God and it shows in his walk thru life. Talking with him will turn your frown into a smile, and then you are gifted with that special smile or laugh of his, and you know you will have a good day. Garrett is someone everyone needs in their life; he is truly leaving footsteps in this world, and making the world a better place to be.

Garrett Farmer, because you've been 'Caught in the Act' the gang at Magnolia Pit Barbecue have a $50 Gift Certificate for you to come have dinner on them!

Take a listen to the phone call we made to Garrett to let him know that he was this week's Caught In The Act Award recipient.
