Leslie Oakes is This Week’s Recipient of the Caught in the Act Award

When Marinda Harmson needed a friend, Leslie Oakes was there. When Marinda needed a job, it was Leslie who gave her one. Leslie even grew to mentor Marinda and was completely honest with her, even when it hurt for Marinda to hear.

Leslie was a Godly gift for Marinda and she's been a gift to so many. Leslie Oakes' giving spirit epitomizes what we look for each week with the Kiss Country Caught in the Act Award and reading the nomination letter we received about her from Marinda made it so easy to select her as this week's recipient!

I would like to nominate Leslie Oakes for the Caught in the Act Award. I truly believe God placed this woman into my life 10 years ago for a reason. Not only is she an outstanding mother, wife, sister, daughter and servant of God, but she is also one of my friends and my mentor. Not only did she offer me my first "real job" at 22 years old, she has been there for me through many obstacles. Helping me pay bills when I was a single mother, being the first friend at the hospital after having a newborn, photographing my wedding, being the first person I called after being involved in a devastating car accident, being completely honest (even when it hurts) and pushing me to try my best - in which I wouldn't have the job I have now if it all wasn't for her. She has no idea how much her faith has empowered me to become the woman/wife/mother I am today. It is truly a testament of how her "caught in the act" personality can change the world. Leslie is a busy mom of 2 daughters, wife of a hard working pharmacist, and accepting a lead role of a new financial investment firm. This award would be a true gift in allowing her to enjoy a relaxing, well deserved night in which she deserves.

Leslie Oakes, thank you for being an inspiration to us all and a big reason why this is the greatest place in America to live!
