Kelly Hanus Is Latest Caught in the Act Award Recipient
Kay Bissel was obviously glowing as she composed her nomination letter about her dear friend, Kelly Hanus.

Reading the letter, you can just feel the sincerity of the love that Kay has for Kelly.
And why wouldn't she! Kelly's willingness to do whatever might be needed to serve those around her is nothing short of heroic!
That spirit is exactly why it was so easy to name Kelly Hanus this week's recipient of the Kiss Country Caught in the Act Award.
Kelly and I were introduced by a mutual friend about 30 years ago. Our connection as "kindred spirits" was instant. It was as if we had known each other all of our lives. We were across the hall from each other Kindergarten teachers for 10 years. She made coming to work seem like play. Kelly is one of the most dedicated and loving teachers I have ever met. Making sure that her "babies" were taken care of was her #1 priority. She wasn't just their teacher and mentor, but she was their "school mama." Being a teacher is just one of the many hats Kelly has worn throughout her life. She is a big sister to 4 other siblings, daughter, wife, mom to Angel, Chloe, and Joe, Nana to several nieces and nephews, and most recently she is affectionately called Sugar by her 2 precious granddaughters, Lyric and Kameron. Two years ago, Kelly had a stroke and as a result, she has retired from her teaching career; however, she still finds time to tutor students who need that extra help in their studies. Kelly has a very strong love for Jesus and she displays her Christian personality on a daily basis. Anytime you need a prayer warrior......Kelly is your girl!! Kelly and I have shared tears of laughter, tears of sorrow, and many many unforgettable memories over the years. I always knew I could count on Kelly to say just the right words at the right time when I needed to hear them. She is the peanut butter to my jelly, the vanilla to my Diet Coke and the Ga-Linda to my Elphaba!! She is truly one of my very best friends and I nominate her without reservation to receive the Caught in the Act Award!! I love ya Kel!!
Kelly Hanus, because you've been 'Caught in the Act', John and the gang at the Magnolia Pit have a $50 gift certificate for you to come enjoy a great meal!
Take a listen to the phone call we made to Kelly to let her know that she was this week's Caught In The Act Award recipient.
