It's been said that "A son is a son until he takes a wife. A daughter is a daughter for life." Those words could never prove truer than the nomination letter we received from Amanda Branch about her Daddy, Jimmy Moore.

It was obvious to us just how much Amanda loves her Daddy, and at the same time, how blessed Waskom, Texas, and all of the Arklatex, is to have him.

And that's why it was such an easy decision to name, Jimmy Moore, this week's recipient of the Kiss Country Caught in the Act Award.

I'd like to tell you about my Dad, Jimmy Moore. I don’t even know where to begin…. for the last 47 years…..I think back about my big mama, his mom, telling me about him shining shoes as a kid and bringing home stray dogs to get healthy and find loving homes. I can only imagine this….He held 2 jobs most of my life to put my mom through nursing school, me and my sister through college and was by my side during a terrible divorce….He has always stepped in where he was needed….countless hours practicing ball with my son….He’s served in his community as Mayor and Council Man most of my life….not to count the endless hours he put into raising money for Waskom ISD for the students to have unforgettable memories and following behind the bus on Friday nights to support us. After all his hard work, he retired into a taxi for his grandkids and picked up slack wherever needed….These past 2-3 years have been difficult after losing my mom's parents ….He’s always been the glue and not hesitated to do what was needed. He is very deserving of this award….and very much loved by me and the rest of our family!! I love you daddy and couldn’t be more blessed than to call you mine. Love, Amanda

Jimmy Moore, thank you for being so amazing! You are a big reason why this is the greatest place in America to live! And because you've been 'Caught in the Act' the gang at Silver Star Smokehouse have a $100 Gift Certificate for you and the family to come have dinner!

Take a listen to the phone call we made to Jimmy to let him know that he was this week's Caught In The Act Award recipient.

These 34 Texas 'Most Wanted' Criminals Were Captured in 2021

Texas law enforcement officials put in one heck of a year in 2021! Thanks to the tireless efforts of state, local, national, and even international agencies, the Lone Star State broke the record of arresting 32 of the most "Most Wanted" fugitives in the state back in 2013. After the dust settled, these 34 wanted crooks were behind bars.
