If this is your first trip down Clyde Fant Parkway to enjoy the Independence Day Festival and the fireworks here are a few tips: arrive early if you want decent parking for the bands. There will be parking surrounding Festival Plaza.

If you decide to get to the festival early, please prepare for it to be miserably hot, take a cooler and some sunblock. You can take your lawn chairs too. Just remember, no glass containers or pets. Your pet would most likely be miserable anyway due to the heat and the noise. The bands will be playing at the riverfront stage near where Clyde Fant Parkway meets the Barnwell Center.

If you are just interested in enjoying the fireworks--the show begins at 9 pm sharp. You will see cars parked along the sides and the median of Clyde Fant Parkway. Find a space and park your fanny on the tailgate for the 20 minute fireworks show. Our tips from personal experience: think about your exit plan whenever you park--attempt to angle your vehicle accordingly also take your lawn chairs and bug spray.
