Austin, Texas country band Jason Boland & the Stragglers are coming to Phoenix Underground in downtown Shreveport on Thursday, Nov. 14 in support of their new record, 'Dark and Dirty Mile.'

Inspired by country legends like Waylon Jennings and Merle Haggard, the band plays the well known red dirt sound -- a sound Boland himself stands by proudly.

"The t-shirt sellers love that phrase ‘red dirt,’ because it’s so simple,” Boland said. “But it fits. It was coined by the people making the music – rust in the ground, blood in the dirt. It’s real and it’s where I come from – and what I refuse to give up, no matter what."

Shreveport natives Black Water Bride will open for The Stragglers. The show kicks off at 8 p.m.

Tickets for the concert are now available at EventBrite.
