James Freeman Is This Week’s Caught in the Act Recipient
Mariah Laflen didn't get very much of a fair shake in life, but her cloud has an amazing silver lining.
As wards of the state, Mariah and her siblings felt completely alone and unloved. Little did they know that God was going to put one of his angels right in their path.
That angel came in the form of James Freeman. And as Mariah put it in her nomination letter for James, "he is willing to lend a helping hand to anyone who needs it."
That help included taking in Mariah and her siblings as his own. And because of his selfless nature, we are tickled to name James this week's recipient of the Kiss Country Caught in the Act Award.
James, My grandfather is a kind, caring, and helpful person who has made a huge impact on my life. Although he is not my biological grandfather, he has taken me and my siblings in as his own and has provided us with a warm and loving home. He is a true example of what it means to be a family, and his unwavering love and support have been a source of strength and comfort to me throughout my life. One of the things that makes my grandfather so special is his selfless nature. He is always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone who needs it, whether it be a family member, a friend, or a stranger. He has a big heart and He never hesitates to put others before himself, his generosity knows no bounds. "My poppy may not share my blood, but he has given me a heart filled with love and a home filled with care." I love you poppy!!! -Mariah Laflen
