Many in Louisiana Are Now Melting Snow on Stove For Simple Accommodation
Louisiana continues to thaw out after record-breaking snow fell this week, and now some are using the snow in their yard to their advantage.
Not only have we set records in snowfall amounts, but the lowest temperature ever recorded in Louisiana was set this week too.
As temperatures fell to record levels this week, pipes in many homes froze, and the water pressure dropped in several communities.
With that, some who went into the bathroom on Wednesday morning found out that they didn't have enough water to flush toilets and that's when some in south Louisiana got creative.
Needing water some decided to scoop up snow in their yards and melt it in pots on their stove. The melted snow, which turns to water, is then put into toilets so that those without water can flush their toilet in their home
While this may not need to be nuclear science, I still applaud those who thought of this at a time when some were worried about pipes bursting in their homes. So, if you are without water in your home, scoop up enough snow before it melts and have it on standby.
This is another post that you may want to share with family and friends in the event they lose water pressure in their home or if their pipes freeze.
Some good news: We do see a warming trend by the end of this week and into the weekend, which should eliminate the freeze and allow some to conserve water in their communities.
