One East Texas community is trying to solve a mystery regarding Santa Claus himself and the magic of Christmas!

Who's behind the mysterious giant inflatable Santa Claus in Tyler, TX?

That's exactly what residents of Lacosta Drive in Tyler, TX are asking. Who's behind the giant inflatable Santa Claus that showed up mysteriously on an empty lot in their neighborhood? No one seems to know. According to KETK-TV, Santa Claus has been hanging out for about a week now. Neighbors seem to like having him there though, especially the kids.

Is this a big welcome sign for Santa in East Texas? The kids KETK-TV interviewed certainly think so! If you'd like to see this giant mysterious Santa Claus for yourself, he's located at 6709 Lacosta Drive, in the Hollytree area of Tyler, TX.

I did a little bit of sleuthing online and found that inflatable Santas of this size cost anywhere from $900 to $1,299. Add in the cost of the generator and the gas to fuel it, and someone has made a sizeable investment in making sure they spread some Christmas cheer!

Oh, and if you wanted to purchase the lot that Santa Claus is currently sitting on, it's not for sale right now, but Zillow says the property's assessed value as of 2022 was $56,720.
