
Shreveport Police Escalate Efforts to Combat Domestic Violence
The Shreveport Police Department (SPD) is reaffirming its commitment to neighborhood safety by prioritizing the investigation and enforcement of domestic violence offenses. As 2026 continues, officials note that domestic violence remains one of the most critical and recurring challenges facing local families.
To date, the department has responded to more than 1,000 domestic violence-related calls for service and is quickly approaching 175 arrests for the year. Chief Wayne Smith has repeatedly emphasized that these incidents often escalate if left unaddressed, impacting every corner of the community.
Recent Arrests and Enforcement Actions
In a concentrated effort to hold offenders accountable, several individuals were taken into custody this past week following various domestic incidents:
- May 10: Around noon, Teri Antee was arrested and charged with one count of Simple Battery of a Dating Partner.
- May 10: At approximately 6:00 a.m., Keldrick Cornelius was arrested for one count of Domestic Abuse Battery.
- May 10: Earlier that morning at 4:00 a.m., Laishana Harris was charged with one count of Domestic Abuse Child Endangerment.
- May 9: Stemond Scott was arrested near noon and charged with one count of Battery of a Dating Partner and one count of Interfering with Emergency Communication.
- May 6: Amonise Morris was arrested for Violation of a Restraining Order.
- May 5: James Conway was arrested and charged with Domestic Abuse Battery and Domestic Abuse Child Endangerment.
- May 5: Robert Thomas was arrested for Domestic Abuse Child Endangerment.
- May 5: The Shreveport City Marshal’s Office arrested IT Vosley on an outstanding warrant for Simple Battery of a Dating Partner.

The SPD continues to work alongside patrol officers, prosecutors, and advocacy groups to provide a unified front against domestic abuse. Investigators are utilizing all available resources to ensure victims are protected and that the legal process addresses the severity of these crimes.
