Shreveport Regional Airport Announces Daily Non-Stop Flights To Chicago

I am fully convinced that our local airport is an absolute hidden gem. In fact, if you have ever had to endure the chaotic, exhausting trek of flying out of DFW or Houston, it is safe to say that Shreveport Regional Airport (SHV) is the absolute crème de la crème.

Local leaders and news outlets recently gathered at SHV for what they thought was a standard ribbon-cutting ceremony. The occasion was already plenty to celebrate: the airport was officially debuting its newly expanded Gates 1 and 8, alongside a festive send-off for the highly anticipated seasonal non-stop service to Nashville.

But as it turns out, the airport authority had a massive, game-changing surprise up its sleeve for the entire Ark-La-Tex.

Starting October 25th, Shreveport Regional Airport is officially launching daily, non-stop flights to Chicago!

Even better? United Airlines will be operating the route and offering premium First Class service for travelers looking to fly in style. This massive addition marks the 10th non-stop destination available directly out of Shreveport. For anyone eager to book a windy city getaway, tickets officially go on sale tomorrow at United.com.

Shreveport Mayor Tom Arceneaux took to social media to celebrate the major milestone, highlighting just how much our local hub is outperforming the competition:

"What a day at Shreveport Regional Airport! Today, SHV opened a clean, spacious, technologically advanced new gate, and they announced a new direct flight to Chicago, IL! We now have 10 direct flights to major cities (more than Alexandria, Baton Rouge, or Jackson). That is something to be proud of! Airport Director Larry Blackwell, his staff, and the Airport Authority are doing a phenomenal job making advancements at SHV."

With shorter security lines, easy parking, and now ten incredible direct destinations, SHV is making it harder than ever to justify that drive to Texas for a flight.
