Don’t Get Stuck! Plan Your I-20 Route Around These Minden Closures
Just in case you haven't noticed, traffic in the Minden area has been flowing nicely over the newly built LA 531 overpass over I-20.

However, that doesn't mean they are finished with the construction in the area. In fact, the expected completion time for this project won't be until approximately mid-Summer, barring bad weather or other issues.
In a notice from the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development, we learn that in an effort to perform more of this work, on Thursday, May 29 and Friday, May 30, there will be intermittent lane closures on the inside (left) lanes of I-20 eastbound and westbound at the LA 531 interchange near Minden.
These lane closures are scheduled to take place from approximately 7:00 am to 5:00 pm each day, and are necessary to allow the contractor for the ongoing LA 531 overpass replacement project to perform work in the median.
Work is continuing to construct the two roundabouts that are included in the project that will improve traffic flow and relieve congestion at the on and off-ramps, as well as other paving operations.
This work will be performed "weather permitting", so inclement weather could postpone, prolong or alter the scheduled work days/hours for these closures.
DOTD appreciates your patience and reminds you to please drive with caution through the construction site and be on the lookout for work crews and their equipment. Remember to leave plenty of room between you and the vehicle in front of you.
Area residents should exercise caution when driving, walking, or biking near an active construction zone.
