That's the very reason why having your pet vaccinated for rabies can not only save the life of your family pet, but it could save the life of you or your child.

Here's exactly what the World Health Organization (WHO) has to say on the matter.

Rabies is a vaccine-preventable, zoonotic, viral disease affecting the central nervous system. Once clinical symptoms appear, rabies is virtually 100% fatal. In up to 99% of cases, domestic dogs are responsible for rabies virus transmission to humans. Yet, rabies can affect both domestic and wild animals.

You caught that part about the "virtually 100% fatal" didn't you?  That's why the Fall Rabies Clinic at the Bossier City Animal Control is such an amazing offering to all area pet owners.

Tomorrow, Saturday, October 28, from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm, all area pet owners are encouraged to bring in their pets for rabies vaccination.

Hand in Paw – Friends of Bossier City Animal Control (HIP) is partnering with Bossier City Animal Control (BCAC) to provide low-cost rabies vaccinations, microchips, and flea treatments. All services are $5.00 each, but attendees must note that all services are cash only.  No checks, debit cards or credit cards accepted.

The clinic is open to anyone in the Northwest Louisiana Region. You do not need to be a resident of Bossier City to attend. Dogs must be leashed and cats must be in a carrier. Event will take place rain or shine.

BCAC will also offer $5.00 adoptions with an approved application! Adopters can view available pets and submit an application online through the BCAC Petfinder Page. Animals are also posted to the Buddies of BCAC Facebook page for viewing.
