In Louisiana, we all know that LSU's Mike the Tiger is the epitome of having a cool mascot. But what about all of those other teams that call themselves the 'Tigers?'

Did you know that 3.8% of all college programs call their team 'The Tigers?' Just think back to January when our LSU Fighting Tigers won the College Football National Championship. We played the Clemson Tigers and their mascot was so cheap looking, an LSU fan set up a GoFundMe campaign to buy the school a new outfit for their Tiger. The fund actually raised over $3,000! As it turns out, Clemson requested the monies be donated to the non-profit Tigers United, a university consortium consisting of LSU, Clemson, Auburn, and the University of Missouri dedicated to saving wild tigers. Note, the University of Memphis has a tiger mascot as well, they just didn't team up with the other major college teams listed above for Tigers United. It kinda makes you wonder what their problem is... or is that just me?

Of course, there are other schools with a Tiger for their mascot. They just aren't nearly as big as the ones mentioned previously. Check out some other paw-some 'tiger' schools:

DePauw University
East Central University (Oklahoma)
Fort Hays State
Grambling State (Duh!)
Hampden-Sydney College
Jackson State University
Lincoln University
Occidental College
Ouachita Baptist University
University of the Pacific
Princeton University
Riverside City College
Rochester Institute of Technology
Savannah State University
Tennessee State University
Texas Southern University
Towson University
Trinity University
University of West Alabama
