When a person truly lives the life of "service" they are most often oblivious to the fact that there are others who marvel at their greatness.

It's just not in their zone to consider that someone else was paying attention and hanging on to their every word and action.

Such is the case with Randy Smith, who wrote to tell us of the awesomeness of his mentor, Glenn Benton!

And, it was that letter that made it so easy to name Glenn Benton this week's recipient of the Kiss Country Caught in the Act Award.

I'd like to nominate Glenn Benton for this weeks "Caught In the Act" award. Glenn has spent his entire adult life giving back to his community. Glenn spent 30 plus years with the Shreveport fire department and retiring as a Deputy Chief. Glenn didn't stop his community volunteerism here, he continues to volunteer his knowledge, time and career professionalism with Bossier Parish Fire District one as a board member. Also, Glenn has spent numerous years as a Police Juror with the Bossier Parish Police Jury and on various levels, even to include the state. But, hey it doesn't stop here, most Sunday mornings he can be found with a smiling face and a warm welcoming hand shake serving as a Deacon at First Baptist Haughton. He also participates at numerous church events thru out the year. I'm proud to know him as a mentor (even if he doesn't know he is), a close family friend and deep Christian Brother. Just a few of the things I'd like to highlight about My Brother in Christ, Mr. Glenn Benton.
P.S. Sorry too wake you up so early, but I know your heart will answer the phone anytime and this time you answered it's all about you.
Much love, God Bless Brother
Randy Smith
