Gerral Layton Is This Week’s Caught in the Act Recipient
To say that Coach Gerral Layton has a passion for helping those he coaches, would be like saying that Jeff Foxworthy has a passion for rednecks.
It goes much deeper than "passion." Coach Gerral or "Coach G" as his players call him, is one of those truly called to do what he does.
His tireless commitment to his players extends well beyond the field. He strives to be there for all the aspects of their life.
We know this because of the anonymous nomination letter we received about him and were honored to name him this week's recipient of the Kiss Country Caught in the Act Award.
Coach Gerral is one of a kind. He is much more than just a softball coach. He is a mentor, he is a father figure, and he is always there for his players/parents...It doesn't matter if you need a ride, need your hair braided, if you need a last minute hitting lesson, or if you just need advice. He will always drop what he's doing. He fights for each of his girls. Even though he is 100% a great father to his own softball player daughter at LSUA, she is more than happy to share her daddy with 100s of other "daughters" Gerral always shows up at graduations, tournaments, award ceremonies, birthday dinners, college signing, no matter what - Coach G is ALWAYS there. To know him is to LOVE him and he is truly the best friend anyone could have. Coach Gerral Layton definitely hit a grand slam by being the father, coach and man he is. From your Louisiana Titans Family, your past favorite Evangel players, your current Logansport softball team and all of the families you have impacted over the many years. We love you, Coach Gerral Layton.
Gerral Layton, because you've been 'Caught in the Act' the gang at Magnolia Pit Barbecue have a $50 Gift Certificate for you to come have dinner on them!
Take a listen to the phone call we made to Gerral to let him know that he was this week's Caught In The Act Award recipient.
