Captain Donnie Keith and Deputy Travis Orr of the Bossier Sheriff’s Office took a ride on an airboat to check on residents on flooded Poole Road Saturday.
Sheriff's officers say that the airboat is good for rescue and evacuation in extremely shallow water.  As waters recede and boats become less viable to utilize, this type of craft can get into areas and lend assistance..
During the trip, officers met with longtime Poole Road residents who told them the water from the recent flood is even higher - as much as six inches - than it was during the catastrophic flood of 1958.
Thanks to Bossier Parish Sheriff's Office Lt. Bill Davis for this startling video.
