This coming Monday, September 12, Bossier Power Equipment will send a couple of trucks down to South Louisiana to help the flood victims.  Through tomorrow, Saturday, September 10, they'll continue to take donations to fill those trucks.

We spoke with Charlie Williamson, owner of Bossier Power Equipment, and he reminds us that as of now, they are no longer accepting donations of clothing, either new or used.

However, any donations you can make of the following would be greatly appreciated:

Non-perishable food, Sports drinks, Personal care items, Feminine products, Work gloves, Disposable baby diapers, Baby food/formula, Can openers (manual), Plastic ware, Paper Products, Blankets, Disposable adult diapers, Cleaning supplies, Dust mask, Heavy rubber kitchen gloves, Flashlights & fresh batteries, Non-sterile surgical gloves, Mops, Brooms, Snow shovels, Hand tools, Kitchen items (new sets of pots & pans/cooking utensils), First aid supplies, Sunscreen, & Bug Repellent, & pet supplies

In an update to their Facebook page, we learn that these are the items most needed now:

We just got an updated list of what is needed most down south. Non-perishable food, fruit juices, paper goods, sheet sets, towels, brooms, mops, N95 face masks, gloves-leather & latex, paint supplies - rollers, trays, brushes.

Donations will be accepted through tomorrow, 9/10/16 at Bossier Power Equipment on Benton Road in Bossier City.

Also, Bossier Power Equipment is utilizing Box Tops for Education that helps schools get items they need. Schools can buy computers, books, and other items needed. They will collect these box tops through September 16 and will then forward those to the Livingston Parish School Board, who can in turn, exchange for donations to their schools.  Some of those schools were heavily damaged by the flood, with at least one school losing every book in their library.
