Elm Grove Donates Mountain of School Supplies For Less Fortunate Students
Friday afternoon, Elm Grove Middle School was consumed with kindness and giving. Students literally built a mountain of donated school supplies they had been collecting for “Faith Moving Mountains,” a non-profit group that distributes school supplies and uniforms to those in need.
Last year, the organization helped approximately 700 Bossier families. Thanks to Elm Grove’s efforts, they will be able to help even more next year and as needed.
Elm Grove Middle School Principal Ross Boyett sweetened the deal for students, buying Happy Bellies for everyone that brought in at least three items.
Then as an added incentive, he promised if his office was packed this morning with no room to move, they would have one more night school dance. That did the trick! In May, there will be a Hawaiian luau at Elm Grove Middle School.
The presentation of school supplies was made by Assistant Principal Jennifer Armond. Angie Tejada with “Faith Moving Mountains” accepted the donation and was truly blown away by Elm Grove’s efforts.
This act of kindness is part of Bossier Schools’ district-wide community service initiative, “Helping Hearts One Week At a Time.”
