The first time I saw the phenomenon "Elf On A Shelf" was on my friend, Kristy Davis' Facebook page.  I liken it to the Christmas version of "Planking". A Christmas Elf, individually named by each owner, is strategically placed in different places and poses for the purpose of Christmas pictures.  Kristy's family named theirs "Mr. Jingles" and apparently he's the master of tomfoolery, making a mess with flour in front of their Christmas tree:

And playing with a sharpie on a family picture.....

Mr. Jingles even turned the milk green.....

I also found a picture of "Gezell", another Christmas Elf, who apparently had a little fun with lipstick....

And apparently this Elf is a gamer....

So the next time you see stories of a Christmas Elf, you'll know what's going on.  Course, we'd love to see pics of your elf too, so feel free to send them my way at GaryMcCoy@townsquaremedia.com
