As a deer hunter, one of my biggest pet peeves is when other deer hunters have absolutely no regard for the impression they give of all other deer hunters.

Those people who will just toss their corn sacks in the back of their truck as they leave the woods and let them fly where they may, leaving a path of litter in their wake.

Apparently, Dwayne Ramsey feels exactly the same way, and he's not even a deer hunter.

It's Dwayne's commitment to cleaning up the mess that he didn't even create that have us shining the spotlight on him as this week's recipient of the Kiss Country Caught in the Act Award.

Just read the nomination letter about Dwayne that we received from William Rasbury and you'll see exactly what I'm talking about.

Dwayne is a young adult that lives at home with his mom a dad Darlene and Larry Ramsey in castor La. They take care of him as their other children has moved out an started their lives.. Dwayne is a special young man who has a heart bigger than he is. As everyone knows deer season has started and the corn sack in the country along a lot of our state roads in castor an bienville parish litter the sides of the roads. As I was making my weekly rounds to feed deer I saw a orange vest come out the ditch on property I lease.. my first thought it was a trespasser so I get behind the vehicle they have flashers on and they stop. His mother said Dwayne has been bothered by the amount of corn sacks that have littered the highway so he told his mom he wanted to do something. As his mother drove Dwayne would spot the sacks and his mom would stop an he would pick them up. Mind you Dwayne does not hunt . This is simply something that was bothering him an he wanted to make a difference. Along a 8 mile stretch Dwayne picked up 127 corn sacks.. to me that is a remarkable young man.. I’ve know Dwayne some years now an he has always been the kindest Godly young man you can ever come across.. I think Dwayne would be more than honored to receive this award. He overheard me say to his mom about how bad it is on another road an he’s gearing up for another day to do it again.
