Downtown Shreveport is filled with stories — from deadly turn-of-the-century gunfights to hangings in the courthouse. So many bodies needed embalming that multiple buildings did duty as morgues, and some still have the original ‘gut sinks’ to prove it. The ravages of sorry sanitation in a frontier town were a precursor to 1873, when people started dropping dead in the streets. The Yellow Jack, as the deadly Yellow Fever was called, claimed the lives of 25% of the city’s population before subsiding. How many of those spirits still walk our streets and stalk our buildings?

This paranormal activity is the center of attraction for 4 days beginning Thursday, June 20 and running through Sunday June 23 with the "Paranormal Fest."

Paranormal Fest is filled with tours, talks, ghost hunts, book signings, EMF & EVP testing, strange art, freaky films, a spooky pub crawl, cemetery creep, haunted river cruise, spiritists, palm readings and more!  Get event times, locations and your VIP ticket for your choice of this weekend's events at DowntownShreveport.com

Another of the "Haunts" of Shreveport is the Municipal Auditorium.  It's even been rumored the ghost of Hank Willisams still roams this piece of history.  Check out a video that lends a little credibility to that thinking.
