Plan Ahead: I-220 Westbound Lane Closure Thursday Night
If you're one of those who normally travels I-220 in the late night or early morning hours, you need to be aware that Thursday night/Friday morning, there will be an added obstacle to your commute.

In a notice from the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development, all motorists have been advised that this Thursday night, September 11, a portion of the inside westbound lane on the I-220 bridge over Cross Lake in Shreveport, will be closed.
DOTD goes on to explain that the nighttime Cross Lake Bridge lane closure is scheduled to take place from approximately 9:00 pm to 5:00 am, and is necessary to allow crews with the City of Shreveport to perform repairs to the street lighting system on the bridge.
This lane closure is located approximately 1.3 miles west of the LA 173 (Hilry Huckaby III) interchange.
Any previously permitted oversized loads will be accommodated through the work zone. No detour necessary.

As with all projects of this nature, the work will be performed "Weather Permitting" and any inclement weather could delay, extend or alter in other ways the scheduled work day/hours.
DOTD appreciates your patience and reminds you to please drive with caution through the construction site and be on the lookout for work crews and their equipment. Remember to leave plenty of room between you and the vehicle in front of you.
Area residents should exercise caution when driving, walking, or biking near an active construction zone.
