It almost reads like another Dickens novel.  It was the best of news, it was the worst of news.

The bad news is that, with that work comes another major traffic nightmare with long lines and longer delays.

According to the LA DOTD, beginning this coming Wednesday, March 6 at 7:00 am, the southbound outside (right) lane of LA 3 (Benton Road) will be closed from Melrose Avenue to Citizens Bank Drive in Bossier City.

This lane closure is scheduled to be in place for approximately four weeks, and is necessary to allow the contractor for the Walter O. Bigby Carriageway project to continue construction on the new roadway that will tie in to Benton Road.

The Carriageway project is being managed by the City of Bossier City.

As with all projects from the DOTD, this work will be performed, weather permitting, so if inclement weather strikes, there could be a postponement of scheduled work days or hours.

DOTD appreciates your patience and reminds you to please drive with caution through the construction site and be on the lookout for work crews and their equipment.

Louisiana's 21 Most Wanted Criminals

While some of these have been missing for over 50 years and are likely deceased, many have escaped prison in the past 10 years and could likely still be in Louisiana so keep your eyes peeled and should you spot one of these criminals, immediately contact police.
