Chyene Roy Is This Week’s Caught in the Act Recipient
Truth be told, most of us can look back on our childhood and remember at least one teacher who truly made a difference in our lives.
In the case of the little ones at Haughton Elementary, most of those kids are already receiving their blessing in the form of Chyene Roy.
We learned from Brittney Springer just how amazing and dedicated "Miss Roy" is in her nomination letter, and it was so moving, Chyene was an incredibly easing choice as this week's recipient of the Kiss Country Caught in the Act Award!
Chyene Roy, best known as Miss Roy, is an amazing teacher at Haughton Elementary School. We met last year when she became my son's kindergarten teacher. She has such a kind, loving and nurturing heart. I could make a list a mile long of how Miss. Roy is so amazing but ill try and limit it down to a few. My son came home from school one day and said, "mom can send Miss. Roy my baseball schedule she said she would come to one of my games?" I said, "yeah I'll send it to her." I told him over and over, "baby now if she doesn't make it, don't be upset, if she comes to your game she should have to do that for all the kids that ask." I couldn't believe it, when we got to the field she was right there on the front row of seats. My son was so happy and she did this for so many students. She came to multiple games throughout the season and was even going back and forth to different fields watching her students play ball. Another example of her kindness was in February when my husband was diagnosed with cancer. She would reach out to us and ask if we need anything, could she do anything for us and that she would make sure and let us know if our son seemed down or upset or just having an off day. To have that reassurance that his teacher cares so much means the world to us. Throughout the summer she continued to reach out to me and let me know she is there if she can do anything. The struggle was so hard as my husband and I would leave for MD Anderson every 3 months. With school starting back I was getting anxious even more so. I finally felt like I could breathe a little easier as I looked online and saw Miss Roy's name for our youngest daughter's teacher the coming year. Now as the school year is in full swing and my husband and I are still going back and forth to MD Anderson we have the peace of knowing our kids are in such good hands at school. With the busy holidays here and all the activities she has once again shown the love for her students and even came to our oldest daughter's choir performance and then watched our daughter's cheer performance. She does not do this just for our kids but many many other students. I know many students and parents agree with me as we believe Chyene Roy is more than deserving for this weeks caught in the act award.
Chyene Roy, because you've been 'Caught in the Act' the gang at Silver Star Smokehouse have a $100 Gift Certificate for you to come have dinner.
Take a listen to the phone call we made to Chyene to let her know that she was this week's Caught In The Act Award recipient.
