Chimp Haven Prepares For Spring Fling 2015 This Weekend

What better way to jump into the spring season than with Spring Fling 2015! This Saturday, April 18, head for Chimp Haven to enjoy games, food and chimpanzees.

Chimp Haven, located in the Eddie D. Jones Park off Highway 789 in Keithville, will hold Spring Fling this Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Admission prices are: Adults – $6, Children (6-12) – $3 and Children (5 and under) – free. Activity tickets are $1 each.

One of the National Chimpanzee Sanctuary’s largest public events, Spring Fling promises not to disappoint. In addition to the traditional happenings of Chimpanzee Discovery Days, the festival will have a field day theme with 25-yard dash and 3-legged races, egg hunts, face painting, behind-the-scenes tours and the beloved resident chimpanzees.

Visitors are also encouraged to bring jars of peanut butter for the chimpanzees. The individual who brings in the most peanut butter will win a prize package that includes four passes to a 2015 Chimpanzee Discovery Day and behind-the-scenes tour.

“We are excited to offer Spring Fling 2015 to the community,” Chimp Haven President and CEO Cathy Willis Spraetz said. “We thank our generous sponsors and volunteers for making this event possible, and we invite all to attend to not only have fun, but more importantly, to see this great sanctuary and learn the importance of its mission.”
