The 2017 Holly Hill Farm Spring Horse Trials were April 22-23 in Benton, LA at Holly Hill Equestrian Center where I once again had the honor of being the announcer for the weekend. That meant that I had to have a pro pilot my horse through the three phases of the event for me... not that I'm a fan of galloping all out in an open field jumping obstacles that don't fall... I'm too chicken for that!

Dr. Bobby and Tracy Hewlett are the owners of Holly Hill and they graciously allowed me to board my horse, Kappa Sweetheart, onsite for two months of what I called 'pony boot camp' with Julie Norman Shamburger and Caroline Sibley.

Caroline and Sweetie had an awesome event, finishing 3rd in their division (Open Beginner Noviece) going double clear in stadium jumping and cross country and finishing on their dressage score of 33.7!

I finally got the pictures back from the event's official photographer and Terrie Hatcher and her team did a fantastic job capturing the moment! Thank you Terrie for allowing me to use your art on my blog!!!

Of course, I had to put 'pony boot camp' to the test myself and rode in the Tri State Dressage Society show at Holly Hill over the weekend and we were the champions of our division! I can't wait to compete again the first weekend of June!
