Caught in the Act Award Goes To Ray McGrede This Week
In a world where a lot of people seem to constantly ask the question, "What's in it for me?", it's so refreshing to find out there are still some really good people who never think of themselves!
One of those people is Ray McGrede. And once we spoke with Ray, we knew that shining a lot on his good deeds just embarrassed him to death.
And that's the biggest part of his appeal. He doesn't do these things for the accolades, but just simply because he's a good guy. To the core, a good guy dedicated to God and his neighbors.
Looking at Ray's nomination letter from his wife, Rachelle, you'll see how he was a shoe-in as this week's recipient of the Kiss Country Caught in the Act Award.
Today I would like to nominate my husband, Ray. I truly think he was sent to me straight from heaven and not sure what I ever did to deserve him. First off, he puts God before anything else in his life and thanks him for every blessing and trial we have. Even after working all day out of town he loves volunteering his time to youth at church and at camp in the summer. I can't tell you how many times he's taken kids to and from church and just listened to them when they had no one else. We hardly go anywhere where some kid doesn't holler "hey Mr. Ray" and gives him a big hug. He never tells what he does (even to me) but I have had people thank me for things he's done from buying groceries to getting hotel room stay for a family whose child was sick. We have even gone 2 hours to watch a kid, he met at church camp, graduate high school in case his family didn't make it. I'v e seen homeless people call him by name because he talks to them same way he would a bank President. This is a very short list of reasons I nominate him for "caught in the act". I know I can speak for our kids, daughter in laws and grandson when I say he's a Godsend for all of us.
Ray McGrede, thank you for being one of the "good guys" and being a big reason why this is the greatest place in America to live!
And because you've been 'Caught in the Act' the gang at Silver Star Smokehouse have a $100 Gift Certificate for you and the family to come have dinner!
Take a listen to the phone call we made to Ray to let him know that he was this week's Caught In The Act Award recipient.
