I don't know how they managed it, but thieves broke into a Louisiana car dealership and stole the catalytic converter from every single vehicle on the lot.

KLFY.com reports that thieves broke into a car dealership lot in the 1400 block of North Main Street in Opelousas, Louisiana, and stole the catalytic converter from every single vehicle there in one night.

While KLFY.com didn't say when the theft occurred, a quick Google search found that the car dealership in question was most likely Keith Jones Auto Sales, LLC. located at 1414 North Main. KFLY.com's report also didn't specify how many vehicles were affected. However, the big question for me is, how did this happen?

We already know that catalytic converter thefts are on the rise in Louisiana. In some areas, thieves can get up to $300 for each one. That covers the 'why,' but what about the 'how?' Opelousas City Marshal Paul Mouton says that he and his officers are taking this threat seriously, but he feels there's a bigger problem in play... the lack of enough police officers. He says that criminals know this and they're taking advantage of the situation. Despite being short on manpower, law enforcement agencies will be stepping up patrols in the area.
